Hi Intermediates!
Are you excited for the new school year? Better yet, are you excited about exploring our world? I love science because I LOVE nature and the outdoors, and I wonder a lot about how the world works. Science is a way of discovering how things work.
We'll be starting the 2020-21 school year studying Ecology ONLINE! Normally we go outside...a LOT! But now that we're online, I'll be guiding you in your own exploration of habitats, adaptations, and ecosystems.
We'll start out the year meeting "asynchronously" (not live) where I'll provide you with lessons, questions, and explorations that you will do on your own. You'll want to finish these by Friday for our weekly "live" meeting where we'll discuss what you've discovered and learned. Typically, I'll give you a homework assignment after that. I'll also be setting up optional office hours to answer any questions or provide needed help.
You will have access to your class's Week-at-a-Glance (WAAG) and a Wayfinding document through Eaglenet to help you navigate your homework, class meetings, and assignments. The Wayfinding document will also provide you tips and expectations as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

Intermediate Science
Welcome to the Intermediate Science webpage on MaggiesScienceConnection. Here you'll find pages that relate to what we're doing in science right now. You'll find additional pertinent resources, interactive games, notes and review sheets for the topic we are currently studying. Unfortunately, many good educational interactives require Adobe Flash. I've provided you information on how to deal with this, but do not worry if you are unable to do an interactive. Just let me know. Often we do the important ones in class.
The main topics of study for the year will be:

Back-to School Night Presentation
In case you missed it, or need a refresher....here's my Powerpoint slide presentation for Back-to-School Night for both the Intermediates and the 3/4's.
...and here's the written document! Because we are no longer sending written handouts during Back to School night, this is what I would have provided!
